(3) Developmental Age

The LTD model distinguishes growth & maturation (developmental age) from chronological age, regardless of gender. Because girls’ bodies change significantly as they grow, developmental age is particularly relevant. For example, early or late maturation can result in self-esteem issues, bullying & harassment, as well as unwanted sexual attention.
