(4) Trainability

The LTD model addresses sex differences & identifies sex-specific optimal windows for stamina, strength, speed, skill & suppleness. Children & adolescents are not adults, yet in many cases training programs are not adjusted to account for differences in aerobic capacity, strength, or skill acquisition

There is also a need for improved awareness & effective action to address the gendered impact of psychosocial factors that influence (by hindering or facilitating) a young female’s opportunity to benefit fully from optimal windows of trainability, & the additional S’s of training (especially (p)sychology, sustenance, schooling, and socio-cultural).
