Long-Term Development Model
Canadian Sport For Life’s documents are based on their long-term development (LTD) model. The LTD model describes the activities children should be doing at specific ages & stages in their development to build physical literacy. Science, research & decades of experience all point to the same thing: kids will get active, stay active, & even reach the greatest heights of sport achievement if they do the right things at the right time. The LTD model is based on a combination of sport science research, coaching best practices, & related scientific principles.
