Building A Solid Foundation

The first three stages are designed to give Canadians the best possible start in sport & physical activity.

Active start is about mastering basic human movements & developing habits of physical activity.

FUNdamentals is about developing fundamental movement skills & enjoying being physically active.

Learn to train is about learning a wide range of foundational sport skills.

Children pass through these stages in large part simply because they are growing & developing. Adults
learning a new sport or physical activity pass through the FUNdamentals & Learn to Train stages. Transition
from stage to stage is therefore developmentally based.
